I passed by the famous “Great Oil Stick” van in front Giant Hypermarket, Bandar Puteri Puchong around 8.30 pm tonight and was surprised that there is nobody queuing to buy their multi flavor Yau Char Kuey and Ham Chin Peng. I was so happy that finally today I can taste their famous products because having to queue up.
Kenny Chin, the boss there come and serves me himself. He said today there is Manchester United vs Malaysia match and it seems like everyone prefer to stay home to watch it. Before I managed to ask him what is the secret of his success, he already told me that he invested a lot of money to ensure his food is one of the best selling in the market. For example, he has an oven which ensures the garlic inside his garlic stick is dried enough or else the moist inside the garlic will spoilt the quality of his oil stick.
He also offers me a free sample of his mini stick. The whole stick is crispy and easy to bite (one off look I thought it is very hard and can make an old person with false teeth to bite his teeth off together with the oil stick). Kenny said he will launch his strawberry and mocha mini stick soon and he is pretty confidence that people will be willing to queue up “a hundred mile” for it.
