Snatch Thief Victim

I was the victim of snatch thief yesterday, 5 January 2010 at 4.55 pm.

My car was parked at Jalan Sri Petaling 2 in Seri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur. I was inside my car when I remember that I need to take my document bag out from my car boot because I have appointment to meet up my client in a short while. So I open my car door and take the document bag from my car boot. As I was walking toward my car seat, a motorbike came in front of me and his accomplice snatched my document bag. I tried to snatch back my bag but immediately decide to let go because I somehow hear a voice in my head to let go of it. I tried to look at the motorbike number but it sped off to fast I can’t see any number on its plate. The two snatch thieves look like Malays or maybe Indonesian who have stolen other’s people motorbike.

I do not know if I should laugh or cry. You see! The stupid thieves got away with a bag with no value to them but to me, it will take me many days effort to prepare all the presentation slides and reports. Some of them cannot be replaceable. I lost my scientific calculator which has sentimental value. But also God bless because I’m not physically hurt and I didn’t lost my handphone, identity card and money. The cost incurred now would be to replace all my stationery and reprint all the representation documents and reports.

I’m still in trauma now. I feel really unsecure to go out of the house.
This is the second times I lost all my documents and reports. On 30 March 2009, my car side window was smashed and the thieves also stole my document bag with no value to them. I was not in my car when that incident happened. My car was parked at Jalan SS21/9. A witness to the incident told me that it is done by two young guy wearing school uniform.

Last year, my father was also nearly fall prey to this robbery syndicate. He has just gone down from a bus at Jalan Syed Putra where Mid Valley Megamall is situated when a group of foreigners (not sure Bangladesh or Nyammar) pretending to fight and tried to pull my father along. Luckily my father able to act fast, he managed to stop the next bus and jump into the bus. From the bus window, he saw that as soon as he has gone up the bus, the group of foreigners was not fighting anymore.

There are countless snatch thieves incidents happen everyday and the police cannot do much to help. I think they also somehow become immune to it. Am I using the right term? Not sure!

Perhaps the government should look into using robotics surveillance device.

Pisang Goreng Stall at Brickfield (Tun Sambathan)

I believe his business is registered under the name “Pisang Goreng”.

My mother-in-law introduces to me this stall. I’m the type of person who seldom buy all this goreng goreng stuff but each time I go to Brickfield, I simply can’t stop myself from buying and enjoying it.

His stall is located opposite YMCA building.

Sometimes their customers need to wait very long for their order because demand is more than supply. Since I like all their fried stuff, I simply takes whatever that are available as I usually do not have the time to wait that long.

For large quantity order, we must call Mr. Chiam at 012-6172511 to book in advance.

We have to collect our order personally because Mr Chiam do not offer delivery services.

The Final Journey of a GOLDEN Grandpa

Recently I attend a funeral of a 97 years old relative who passed away due to old age. I was amazed of how fast development of this bereavement services that they are really care for everyone comfort and well-being. Of the course, price they charge also consider expensive for most people. I’m here not to judge whether it is worth paying for such an expensive package (yes! You can buy a car using this money) but I believe golden grandpa earns his right to be treated well even after death because he is really a very kind and generous person. He has builds his wealth from nothing but has never failed to help other who is less fortunate than himself. He has many grand-children but me being his sister-in-law’s grandchildren has never being forgotten. I still remember clearly on the Chinese New Year two years ago when I have just delivered a baby, he has never forgotten to give angpaus to my newborn. He has given me two angpaus – one as a newborn gift and other one for Chinese New Year gift.

Golden grandpa seems to be preparing to take his life journey to the end. Early this year, he has insisted on visiting his long-deceased son and his wife’s graveyard for the first time in his life. He inspected his own graveyard and his children has also brief him on arrangement and process of the memorial services. GOLDEN GRANDPA didn’t suffer for long before his departure. He was admitted to the hospital 10 days before his departure but he has requested the doctor to discharge him 3 days later. He knows his time has arrived so as all his children. Those migrated oversea has come back and all his children were in Malaysia on the day he takes his last breath. I believe that this is really a blessing for him and he passed on peacefully without much pain. His last wish to pass away in his own room in his own house which his son has built for him also has been granted.

One of his grand children express her disappointed that most of the people who Golden grandpa has even help never turn up to pay their last respect but I felt sorry for these peoples who have missed all the good blessing that his Golden grandpa will have “distribute” to all of us who has attended his funeral.

Dear GOLDEN grandpa, may you rest in peace! We would always LOVE you!

Mesra Usia Emas Scheme

This is a FREE scheme provided by the government of the state of Selangor Darul Ehsan. Under this scheme, the government will pay a total sum of RM2500 to the nominated beneficiary upon death of registered senior citizen.

Senior citizens who are 60 years old and above and who are born in Selangor or stay in the state for more than 15 years are eligible to apply.

The form can be obtained at the DUN office of respective area that the senior citizen resides.




The senior citizen need not go to the DUN office for application submission (as it may not be convenient for them to travel due to old age or sickness), thereby his family member may collect form and submit the filled form at the DUN office of the area where the senior citizen is resides.

Application must be submitted with the following documents:
a) Mesra Usia Emas Application Form
b) Photocopy Identity Card of the Senior Citizen to be registered (2 copies)
c) Photocopy of Guardian’s Identity Card (2 copies)
d) Photocopy of Beneficiary’s Identity Card (2 copies)

It is important to make sure that the officer in charges of accepting the application form has put a chop on the Identity Card titled “Mesra Usia Emas Selangor Darul Ehsan” to avoid misuse of the Identity Card.

The application form has 3 carbonized copies and the officer in charges will acknowledge receipt of the form and return the yellow copy of the form to the applicants for reference and safe-keeping.

They will not send out any other documentation, so it is essential to keep the yellow copy of the application form in a proper manner as this is the only proof that the senior citizen is already being registered and entitled to the scheme.

Tomato and Carrot Rice

This rice is easy to cook, look good, tastes great and filled with goodness of vegetable. It also give a very nice colour to your rice therefore you can cook it for Chinese New Year or any good function.

Ingredient:

1 cup Carrot Juice
2 Tomatoes (cut it into small pieces)
1 ½ cups Uncooked Rice
2 cups Water
1 tsp Chicken Stock
A bit of butter for cooking

Method:



1) Use low fire to melt the butter, put in the garlie and tomato. Fry it for 1 minute.



2) Put in the rice and chicken stock. Mixed it well



3) Pour in carrot juice. Leave it to boil




4) Off fire and transfer everything to rice cooker



5) Pour in water

6) Now cook it as though you are cooking normal rice

You may put some fried chicken into the rice when it is cooked.




I like to eat it with salted fish. My son likes to eat it with some raisin.

Claim(s) for Breakage of Glass in Windscreen or Window Does Not Affect Your NCD

With so many car thieves around and also events which may cause the breakage of our car windscreen and window, I think it is wise to include the coverage for breakage of glass into our car insurance policy.

One important item to note here (which I noticed that a lot of people is still unaware of) is that if we make a claim under the breakage of glass in Windscreen or Window or SunRoof, it will not affect our NCD (No Claim Discount).



There are terms and conditions applied here, so it is essential that we double confirmed the above matter with the insurance agent before taking up any insurance.

Buffet Dinner at CINNAMON restaurant, One World Hotel

My friends and I went there on Thursday 17 September 2009 for Ramadan Buka Puasa Dinner. It is priced at RM98++ per person.

There is a lot of food to eat but my favourite is the seafood especially the oyster and salmon. I had two plates of seafood and definitely not going for any chicken except for a small piece which is attractive because it is roll with turkey ham.

My ABC become “Air Bandung Campur” because I took too little ais and I put too much sirap.

Upon payment of our dinner, they gave us a souvenir to bring home.
