Before going to Fomema, prepare the following
a) Banker cheque RM190 (for female) under the name “Fomema Sdn Bhd”
b) Print out registration form from website http://www.fomema.com.my/html/ (Or you may get the form from Fomema when you arrived there)
c) Check the list of fomema approved clinic and choose the one of your convenience (preferably the clinic with X-ray facility)

Fomema address: Lot G1-G10, Level 3, Block G (Central) Pusat Bandar Damansara
Damansara Height, 50490 Kuala Lumpur. Tel: 03-20946188

Direction to Fomema from Jalan Maarof:
From Jalan Maarof turn right, keep right, follow sign board to Pusat Bandar Damansara. Once reach the traffic light, turn left and then right, go to parking. Fomema is on right hand side near the parking entry booth. Parking is RM2.20 for 1st hours. I only there for least than an hour, so I forgotten to check what is the rate for subsequent hours.

Go to Aras 3 (Kiri) in Block G, queue up to get the form (if you didn’t pre-print the form earlier) or number. Wait for your turn. Pass the fully completed registration form to the servicing counter. They will process it immediately and pass you the necessary document to bring to the clinic.

Then bring the maid to the clinic/hospital for medical check-up. The result will be send by the panel doctor to immigration after 10 days from the check-up day. Employer can views the result by logging into fomema website at http://www.fomema.com.my/result.php. If maid medical result is suitable, it will ask us to proceed to immigration office.

Maid visit pass can be renewed at Level 2, Block G, Immigration office, Putrajaya.

Make banker cheque to ‘KETUA PENGARAH IMIGRESEN MALAYSIA’ before going to Immigration office. For Indonesian maid, it is RM445.00. Get the number from the counter. When it is your turn, the officer will retrieve your maid information thru their online system. You just need to give the officer your maid’s passport. (it is safer to bring authorization letter (if you are not the registered employer under your maid’s passport), the employer’s IC and print-out result of Fomema). Then the officer will pass back the passport to you and ask you to pay at the Payment Counter. After getting the receipt, go to sticker counter to get the sticker of the Visa. Then you have successfully renew the maid’s visit pass.

Dinner at Italiannies Restaurant, The Gardens

We decided to dine at Italiannies Restaurant after I saw the nice photo of Bowl of Pasta and Lamb Shank from the website of kampungboycitygal.com.

To my disappointment, the Bowl of Pasta is no longer available in their menu.

Another disappointment is that Italiannies has discontinued the kid-eat-for-free promotion. Their webste is out-of-date because it states that such promotion is available.

Below are the foods that we have ordered:

The bruschetta and Lamb Shank are nice, others are so-so only. The restaurant is very stringy on the sauce. There is so little sauce being given for the Parmesan Fish and the Lamb Shank.

FGS Dong Zen Temple 2010

I went to FGS Dong Zen Temple on the 3rd day of Chinese New (ie on 16th February 2010). It was in the afternoon around 12 noon to 3 pm and the weather is really warm.

It is not as crowded as Year 2006 when I went there for the first time. I think the environment (ie lantern & flora) is much nicer in 2006 then 2010. Below are some of the photos I took in 2006. It was taken between 6 pm to 8 pm on 1st February 2006.

The official website for this temple is www.fgs.org.my

Thean Hau Temple (天后宫) 2010

I would like to share some of the photos that I took at the famous Thean Hau Temple located at Kuala Lumpur. It is not so crowded during the time when we visited the temple, probably because we went there at odd hour (around 4 pm) on 2nd day of the tiger year.

Parking is RM3 per entry.

Lunch at ChillOut Bistro and Restaurant, Subang Parade

We have lunch at ChillOut Bistro which turn out to be not so satisfactory.

The Wild Mushroom Soup is not creamy and taste so-so only.

The Crusty Calamari is the one taste good and presentable. I have forgotten to take photo of it…sorry!

The Almond Caesar Salad is under the chef recommendation list but I found nothing special with it.

My friend order the steak called Surf & Turf but the sauce turns out to be pepper sauce instead of herbs butter sauce as specified by the menu. My photo in the menu (small photo on the right hand side) shows that the dish got vegetable on the prawn but did anyone saw any vegetable in the actual dish? My friend asks the restaurant staff where the vegetable has gone and later they gave him a small bowl of vegetable in a very salty butter sauce.

My Sea Bass taste bitter which I think they have grilled it too long. When I complain to them, they replace the small piece of the seabass for me only. Isn’t that they should give me a fresh plate all-together because I remember friends telling me if they dine in TGI Friday or Chilli, the restaurants will replace the whole plate if the customer not satisfy with what they order.

The sushi and temaki is not up to our expectation also.

The Grill Prawn which they called is Butter Goong is the second food which considers taste good.

I would said that the restaurants offer good ambience to hang around with friends but not really a good place to dine.

Prosperity Sparrow Flower for 2010 Chinese New Year

This is the photo of fa cai niao (prosperous sparrow flower) plant by my mother-in-law.

It is believed to bring extra luck and prosperity to those who own it.

My mother-in-law bought it many months ago. At that time, it is just a normal plant without the sparrow flower but surprisingly 2 weeks before 2010 Chinese New Year of Tiger, it already has pinkish leaves bearing green fruits shaped just like cute little sparrows.

Last week my mother-in-law brought me to see the uncle who plants it and sold it to her. Uncle Cheong is his name and he said that the little sparrows can last around 2 months. According to Uncle Cheong, good quality tree must be small in size but bears a lot of sparrow flower. If you do not understand the right way to create this tree, it will only grow in size but bears no fruits.

Uncle Cheong is selling the trees at RM40 to RM60 depending on the size and quality of the trees.
